EDM Operator / Trainee Toolmaker

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Toolmaker / EDM Operator to join a well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer.

This role offers the chance to develop a long-term career within a busy toolroom environment, working alongside experienced Toolmakers and Engineers. Candidates from EDM, CNC machining, toolroom, manufacturing, maintenance, or general engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Role
Operate and support EDM machining processes.
Assist with the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of production tooling.
Support tool trials, tooling improvements, and fault finding activities.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
Assist with tool assembly, fitting, and inspection.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety.What We're Looking For
Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, machining, or toolroom environment.
Experience operating EDM machinery would be advantageous but not essential.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Good understanding of precision measurement techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable Experience
