ANZUK Education is working with an SEN School set within the Sevenoaks area seeking to appoint an SEN Student Support Assistant to join their outstanding and dedicated team.
Join a SEND School, based in Sevenoaks, dedicated to supporting children with profound, severe and complex needs, where every child is given the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential.
* Job Title: SEND Student Support Assistant
* Location: Sevenoaks
* Pay Range: £13.82 pr hr
* Hours: Hours worked on set shifts between 7am and 10pm
* Contract Type: (Mon – Friday)
About the role:
Support students’ learning, communication, personal care, and overall development in line with their individual care plans
Safely support students with medical and physical needs, including assisting with medication, gastrostomy (gastro) feeding, and other healthcare requirements where appropriate
Encourage and enable students to participate in activities, building independence and life skills
Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents/carers to help maintain high standards of care and support
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families, and external professionals to support students’ needs
Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements:
To support the needs of the pupils, applicants are expected to have completed People Moving and Handling with Hoist Training or Moving and Assisting of People.
Please note:
* The training should have been completed in person (online-only courses are not suitable for this setting).
* Candidates will need to provide proof of completion (e.g. a certificate) prior to starting.
* Certificates should be current and issued by a recognised training provider.

Additional Skills & Experience Required:
Experience working in Residential Schools and SEND schools
Physically able to support students with disabilities, including assisting with personal care where required
Patient, resilient, flexible, and able to maintain a positive approach in a dynamic environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a good understanding of safeguarding practices
Willing to follow school procedures, prioritise safety, and uphold fundamental British values
Experience working within a SEND school or SEND mainstream provision (primary or secondary)
Strong communication skills, including use of non‑verbal communication methods
Ability to support personal care, including feeding, toileting and moving & handling, with dignity and respect
Due to the location of the school own transport is desirable but no essential
