Location: Saltmeadows
Salary: Typical Earnings Circa £41,700 per annum + Overtime
Hours: 38 Hours Per Week | 5 Days Over 7

We are recruiting for a skilled Master Technician to join a leading fleet engineering operation, maintaining a modern fleet of passenger service vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities who enjoys solving complex technical issues and supporting workshop performance.
Candidates from either a PSV, Bus, Coach, HGV, Truck or Commercial Vehicle background are encouraged to apply.
The Role of the Master Technician
As a Master Technician, you will act as a technical specialist within the workshop, supporting the maintenance and reliability of the fleet while assisting colleagues with complex repairs and diagnostics.
Key responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and rectifying complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
Carrying out servicing, inspections and repairs to the highest standards.
Supporting vehicle reliability and fleet availability targets.
Assisting technicians with technical guidance and fault diagnosis.
Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle defects.
Conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with DVSA standards.
Supporting MOT and annual test preparation activities.
Completing maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately.
Promoting safe working practices and engineering excellence throughout the workshop.What we’re looking for from the Master Technician
Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV or equivalent.
Proven experience working on buses, coaches, HGVs, trucks or commercial vehicles.
Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
Experience using modern diagnostic equipment.
Ability to mentor and support other technicians where required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
