Automation Engineer (Multiskilled)

Location: West London – Field Based

Salary: £48,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Automation Engineer (Multiskilled) to join a growing engineering business delivering services across commercial and residential environments. This field-based role offers a varied workload including reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, servicing, and installation of automated access systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customers' automated door, gate, and barrier systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational while delivering exceptional service standards.

Automation Engineer (Multiskilled) Key Responsibilities

* Attend emergency call-outs and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs.

* Service, maintain, and repair automatic doors, gates, and barrier systems.

* Install and commission automated access equipment.

* Conduct site surveys, inspections, and system assessments.

* Complete detailed service reports and job documentation.

* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.

* Maintain accurate timesheets and work records.

* Participate in an on-call rota and undertake overtime when required.

Automation Engineer (Multiskilled) Skills & Experience Required

* ADSA or ADIA accreditation.

* Minimum of 3 years' experience working with automatic doors, gates, barriers, or related automation systems.

* Full UK Manual Driving Licence.

* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

* Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

* High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

* Flexible and adaptable approach to work requirements.
