Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established Primary School in Stockport, who are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Business Manager to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the school's leadership and administration team, working closely alongside a dedicated group of office staff to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the school.
The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible; however, for an exceptional candidate, a September 2026 start will be considered.
The Role
As School Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational and financial management of the school, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and supporting the senior leadership team with strategic planning and resource management.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the school's finances, budgets and financial reporting
Monitoring expenditure and ensuring value for money across the school
Supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with operational planning
Overseeing administrative processes and office systems
Managing contracts, procurement and service-level agreements
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and school policies
Working collaboratively with office staff, governors and external stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Have previous experience working as a School Business Manager within a school setting
Be proficient in using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
Have strong financial management and budgeting experience
Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Possess strong communication and leadership skills
Demonstrate a proactive and solution-focused approach
