TimePlan Education is proud to be supporting a well-established and inclusive secondary academy in Wellingborough with the recruitment of a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp to perm basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who may face barriers to learning. You'll play a vital role in helping students build confidence, develop key skills and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

Working closely with the school's Accelerated Learning Team, you will provide targeted support to students through a combination of classroom assistance, intervention work and pastoral support.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to develop literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
Providing in-class support for pupils with additional needs, including SEMH, ADHD and ASD.
Helping students regulate behaviour, build resilience and re-engage positively with learning.
Delivering targeted interventions and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.
Maintaining accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes.
Supporting SEND processes and liaising with families, external agencies and professionals where required.
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and the SENCO to promote inclusion and remove barriers to learning.

A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with young people.
Passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
Organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Emotionally resilient and confident supporting students who may present with complex needs.
Committed to safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of all students.Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ADHD or ASD would be highly advantageous, although training and ongoing support will be provided.
