What will you be doing?
·Leading the design, development and integration of advanced control systems
·Reviewing and approving system architectures, designs and technical specifications
·Taking ownership of testing, validation and commissioning activities
·Managing technical delivery across projects, including quality, performance and compliance
·Working closely with software, hardware, workshop and project teams to deliver successful outcomes
·Leading technical discussions with clients and project teams to resolve issues
·Supporting bids and providing technical sign-off during the tendering process
·Mentoring engineers, developing team capability and providing line management support
·Managing project resources, budgets, reporting and close-out activities
Where you'll be doing it?
You'll be joining a long-established engineering business with over 50 years of experience delivering digital transformation and system integration solutions across energy, nuclear and industrial manufacturing. The company works on complex, safety-critical projects and has a strong presence across the UK.
What you'll need:
·At least 7 years' experience in systems engineering, hardware design or electrical design
·Strong knowledge of control systems and associated software and hardware
·Experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, SCADA packages, PLC packages and HMI packages
·Experience applying systems engineering principles and system integration processes
·Good understanding of project management, including cost control and client management
·Basic understanding of contractual and commercial requirements
·Experience of software development and hardware integration
·Experience working on client sites
·Strong communication and presentation skills
·Ability to provide technical input during bids, including estimating time and effort
·Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, guide and support engineering teams
·Experience in highly regulated industries would be useful
