Job Title - Electrical Improver
Duration - Temp to Perm (starting on a 6-month contract)
Working Model - On a four-shift pattern: 2 days and 2 nights (on-site Towcester)
Salary/Rate - Hourly rate is open to discussion, but it will end on a £36k salary
Electrical Improver Engineer Overview
This role involves supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment within a cleanroom production environment. You will assist with fault finding across electrical, pneumatic, and control systems to help minimise equipment downtime and maintain the continuous operation of high-precision wafer production tools. Working alongside experienced engineers and production teams, you will contribute to preventative maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency are maintained on a four-shift pattern.
The Electrical Improver role will involve:
Assisting with the maintenance of site systems
Supporting fault-finding and basic repairs on machines and control systems under the guidance of experienced engineers
Helping respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime and support continuous production
Assisting with equipment installations and upgrade projects as part of the engineering team
Adhering to all health & safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment at all times
The Electrical Improver will ideally have the following attributes:
Completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on engineering experience required
Some experience working in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments
Developing fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and improve
Comfortable working on a four-shift rotating pattern (days and nights)
Committed to following health & safety procedures and maintaining quality standards at all times
