Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with a leading national charity supporting unpaid carers to recruit a Senior Content and Development Officer for a well‑established, impactful role within their Carer Services team.

Summary of the role
This role leads on developing and delivering high‑quality digital content, supports research and project activity across the Carer Services team, and manages a national employer benchmarking scheme. It is ideal for someone with strong writing, digital content, CRM and project management skills who enjoys collaborative working and delivering meaningful impact.

Job title: Senior Content and Development Officer
Salary: £37,955
Contract: Fixed‑term maternity cover until June 2027
Hours: Full‑time, 35 hours per week
Location: Hybrid ; London office

Responsibilities

Lead newsletter development: plan editorial meetings, research and draft content, and coordinate production.
Maintain and update digital content across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Support research and project delivery for internal and externally funded initiatives.
Contribute to e‑learning development through research and content review.
Manage the employer benchmarking scheme including applications, client communication, invoicing and renewals.
Respond to enquiries, maintain accurate CRM records and provide excellent customer service.
Support events across Carer Services and Employers for Carers.

Person specification

Excellent customer service skills across phone, email and written communication.
Strong relationship‑building abilities, engaging confidently with organisations at all levels.
CRM and database proficiency with accurate record‑keeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities.
Strong writing and research skills, able to produce clear, engaging content.
Good project management capability, delivering work to tight deadlines.
Confident IT user, including CMS, Word, Excel and online systems.

Desirable: basic photo‑editing skills; understanding of issues affecting unpaid carers.
