Compliance Manager

£40,000-£45,000

This is a hands-on compliance role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, driving improvements, and making a real impact within a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the business maintains the highest standards of compliance while supporting future growth and operational excellence.

As Compliance Manager, you will lead all aspects of compliance, health and safety, and regulatory requirements across the transport operation. You will work closely with senior management to ensure legal obligations are met and robust systems and processes are in place.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the lead contact for all Health & Safety and Compliance matters.

* Manage legal and regulatory compliance across the transport operation.

* Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.

* Drive improvements to digital compliance systems and documentation processes.

* Ensure vehicle and driver compliance is maintained in accordance with current legislation.

* Coordinate audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting requirements.

* Monitor compliance performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

* Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on compliance matters.

About You

* Proven experience in a compliance-focused role.

* Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution, or a similar operational environment.

* A strong understanding of regulatory compliance and best practice.

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

* Strong Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel skills.

* A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and influence others.

Desirable Qualifications

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

* NEBOSH

* IOSH
