Red Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Toolmaker on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in toolmaking. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will receive hands-on training in the manufacture, maintenance and repair of tooling while gaining valuable experience within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting with the manufacture and maintenance of tooling and precision components
* Supporting experienced Toolmakers with repairs and modifications
* Using a variety of engineering equipment and hand tools
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Carrying out routine inspections and quality checks
* Maintaining a clean and organised work area
* Following all Health & Safety procedures
* Continuously developing your technical skills through on-the-job training
Requirements:
* A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Toolmaking or a similar engineering discipline
* A genuine interest in pursuing a career in toolmaking
* Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills
* Ability to read engineering drawings (advantageous but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
* Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a team

* Monday to Friday day shifts with an early finish every Friday
