Role Summary:
The Stores Person will be responsible for managing the company's stock of materials, tools, and components, ensuring items are stored safely, accurately recorded, and readily available for production and maintenance activities. The role requires organisation, attention to detail, and basic administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of materials, parts, and tools.
Ensure all items are stored safely and in an organised manner.
Maintain accurate stock records, including issuing and returning items to the workshop.
Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
Identify low stock levels and assist in placing orders as directed.
Support workshop and production teams by providing necessary materials promptly.
Ensure the stores area is clean, safe, and complies with health and safety regulations.
Assist with the disposal of obsolete or damaged stock.
Operate simple stock management software and paper-based record systems.Essential Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a stores or warehouse role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills, including Excel and inventory systems.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move materials safely.
Basic understanding of health and safety requirements.Desirable Skills:
Forklift licence or experience operating other handling equipment.
Familiarity with engineering components and materials.Personal Qualities:
Reliable and trustworthy.
Methodical and organised.
Team player with good communication skills.
