LCV Technician

Swindon

Up to £42,500 depending on shift pattern, plus overtime paid at time and a half

40 hours per week | Days, Lates and Nights Available

Let's be honest...

Good technicians are hard to find.

The people who can diagnose faults properly, take pride in their work, and keep vehicles on the road safely and efficiently are always in demand.

If you're an experienced LCV Technician looking for a business that genuinely invests in its people, offers ongoing training, and provides long-term career opportunities, then this could be the role for you.

The Role

Working as part of a busy workshop team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of light commercial vehicles to the highest standards.

Day-to-day you'll be:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work on LCVs and vans
• Diagnosing faults and identifying worn or damaged components
• Completing vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance activities
• Carrying out wheel alignments and tyre fitting
• Working closely with colleagues to plan and complete repairs efficiently
• Maintaining accurate service records and workshop documentation
• Completing job cards and warranty paperwork as required
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Maintaining high workshop housekeeping and safety standards

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI)
• Experience carrying out diagnostics, servicing and repairs on LCVs or passenger vehicles
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
• Full UK Driving Licence
• A positive attitude and commitment to delivering quality workmanship

Applications are welcomed from technicians with either LCV or passenger car experience.

Research shows many people won't apply unless they meet every requirement. If you have the relevant qualifications and experience, we'd still encourage you to apply.

What's On Offer?

• Up to £42,500 depending on shift pattern
• Overtime paid at 1.5x rate
• Saturdays paid as overtime
• 16 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
• Additional day off for your birthday
• Company pension scheme
• Life assurance
• Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support
• 24-hour GP access and second medical opinion service
• Ongoing manufacturer and technical training
• Internal mentoring and development programmes
• Annual appraisals and career progression opportunities
• Recognition and reward schemes
• Enhanced family-friendly policies
• Long service awards and increased holiday entitlement
• Branded uniform provided

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that values its technicians, supports career development, and offers long-term stability within a professional workshop environment.

Forward Assist Recruitment is acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are proud to support service leavers and veterans transitioning into civilian careers
