Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid Working - 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview:
Zenovo are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their client in Cambridge who design and manufacture globally recognised consumer products.
An ideal candidate will have at least 5-Years of Commercial Experience in a Product Development Environment, having been involved in taking Products through from Concept to Manufacturing. They will also be capable of leading and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop new product concepts and prototypes with cross-functional engineering teams.
Create practical and manufacturable product designs.
Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Select materials and manufacturing processes for product development.
Design components for injection moulding, die casting, extrusion, and sheet metal fabrication.
Perform engineering analysis, testing, and design validation.
Apply DFM/DFA principles and manage BOMs and design data.
Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners throughout development.
Support tooling, production builds, and product launch activities.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project delivery when required. Required Skills & Experience:
Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years' experience in product design and development, ideally with electrical or electro-mechanical consumer products.
Strong 3D CAD skills, including surfacing and solid modelling.
Familiarity with SolidWorks
Understanding of taking electrical/electronic products from design through to manufacture.
Experience using PTC Creo and Windchill PDM is desirable but not essential
Experience designing products for demanding environments is an advantage
