Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant
Uxbridge, Hillingdon
Full-time, Term-time only
Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
We are currently working with a well-established secondary SEN school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon) that is looking to appoint an experienced Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and dedicated team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong background in supporting students with highly complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD, and associated medical and behavioural needs.
About the Role As a Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with significant learning difficulties and additional needs to access education in a safe and structured environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs
Assisting with personal care where required
Supporting students with communication needs (PECS, Makaton, etc.)
Implementing EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Managing behaviours positively using de-escalation techniques
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staffThe School
A specialist secondary SEN school with a strong reputation in Hillingdon
Caters for students with complex learning needs and disabilities
Supportive senior leadership team and collaborative staff environment
Excellent facilities tailored for students with additional needsRequirements To be considered for this role, you must have:

Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people with complex SEN needs
Experience supporting conditions such as ASD, PMLD, SLD, or physical disabilities
Confidence supporting personal care and mobility needs (desirable but often essential)
Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience
