Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support delivery on a major HS2 infrastructure project based in Southam. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a section of works, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality project delivery in line with programme and contractual requirements.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical capability and experience of large-scale civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the planning and execution of a designated section of works, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards
Lead and coordinate site engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
Develop and implement short-term programmes and lookaheads aligned with the contract programme
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with SHEQ standards and project specifications
Review designs and raise technical queries with design teams where required
Prepare and review RAMS, ITPs and construction documentation
Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently
Monitor progress, identify risks/issues and implement mitigation measures
Maintain accurate site records, as-builts and reporting
Support commercial and cost control activities, including change management under NEC contracts
Deliver site briefings, inductions and ensure compliance with project safety procedures
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Sub Agent on major civils/infrastructure projects (HS2 experience highly desirable)
Strong background in disciplines such as earthworks, drainage, highways or structures
Demonstrable experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors
Good understanding of NEC contracts and change control processes
Ability to produce and manage programmes, reports and site documentation
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Qualifications & Certifications
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline
SMSTS
CSCS (Black or Gold card)
Temporary Works Supervisor (desirable)
First Aid (desirable)
