We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major industrial warehouse development. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic project team and play a key role in the commercial management of a significant logistics and industrial scheme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, subcontractor packages, valuations, and commercial reporting, ensuring the project is delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account.
Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontractor packages and appointments.
Monitor project costs and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
Assess and process subcontractor applications, payments, and variations.
Prepare client valuations and manage the payment process.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and provide mitigation strategies.
Manage change control procedures and contractual correspondence.
Support project teams with cost planning and value engineering exercises.
Produce monthly cost reports and contribute to project reviews.
Assist in the agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on industrial, logistics, warehouse, or large-scale commercial construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC forms.
Experience managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administration.
Excellent cost reporting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently within a fast-paced project environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
