Basic Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 Depending on Experience
OTE: Up to £51,000
Working Hours: Monday - Friday

Are you an experienced Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician looking for your next challenge?
Our client is seeking a highly skilled technician to join their busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional with strong diagnostic and mechanical repair expertise to take ownership of complex repairs.
This role would suit a Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Senior Vehicle Technician with extensive experience in fault finding, engine repairs, gearbox work and advanced vehicle diagnostics across multiple vehicle brands.

Responsibilities of a Diagnostic Technician
- Diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle faults using manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment
- Performing major mechanical repairs including engine rebuilds, engine replacements, gearbox repairs and clutch replacements
- Diagnosing and repairing timing belt, wet belt and advanced engine management faults
- Conducting root cause analysis and ensuring repairs are completed to the highest standard
- Completing final quality control inspections, road tests, calibrations and system resets
- Accurately documenting repair findings and warranty information
- Supporting warranty claim submissions through detailed and accurate reporting
- Maintaining workshop efficiency whilst ensuring compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety regulations
- Liaising with customers when required to explain technical findings and repair recommendations

Skills and Qualifications of a Diagnostic Technician
- MUST HOLD an NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience as a Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Senior Vehicle Technician
- Proven experience carrying out advanced diagnostics and complex vehicle repairs
- Strong knowledge of engine repairs, timing belts, wet belts, gearboxes, clutch replacements and auto electrics
- Experience using specialist diagnostic and testing equipment
- MOT Licence desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- High level of accuracy in documentation and administration
- Proactive approach with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Full UK Driving Licence (subject to licence checks)
