The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a growing and successful business. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery and architectural metalwork projects.

Working closely with the Sales & Estimating Manager, you will review tender enquiries, assess material and labour requirements, obtain subcontractor quotations, and prepare detailed cost estimates. You will play a key role in securing new business by identifying opportunities to maximise competitiveness while maintaining profitability.

Following successful contract awards, you will remain involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting production teams, participating in contract launch meetings, and ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with the original estimate.

This role would suit an individual with previous estimating experience within joinery, architectural metalwork, manufacturing, construction, or a related sector.

Key Responsibilities
Review tender enquiries and assess suitability for pricing.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke joinery and architectural metalwork projects.

Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Calculate material requirements and manufacturing labour hours.

Identify opportunities to provide competitive commercial solutions.

Work closely with management to determine pricing strategies and tender submissions.

Produce tender documents, cost breakdowns, bills of quantities, and supporting information.

Present pricing information to senior management for review and approval.

Participate in contract launch meetings and provide detailed project handovers.

Liaise with design, setting-out, and production teams to ensure projects are manufactured in line with the original estimate.

Review and price project variations throughout the contract lifecycle.

Support Contracts Managers with variation quotations and commercial assessments.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and internal controls.

Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 2 years' experience in an Estimator position or a similar commercial/technical role.

Knowledge of joinery, architectural metalwork, manufacturing, construction, or bespoke fabrication.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Experience calculating labour, material, and subcontractor costs.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

Commercial awareness and the ability to identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
