We are seeking a Test Technician with experience in the assembly and fault diagnosis of electronic, mechanical or gas systems for a Cambridge-based company. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop your technical skills, working within a collaborative team responsible for testing, calibrating, servicing and repairing high-value, low-volume products.
Responsibilities
- Perform the build, inspection and commissioning of advanced scientific and laboratory equipment prior to customer delivery
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during assembly and testing activities
- Conduct functional testing, verification and calibration procedures in line with documented standards
- Service, maintain, and repair returned equipment, ensuring it is restored to operational condition
- Accurately record faults, corrective actions and technical findings to support continuous product improvement
- Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to help identify recurring issues and drive product reliability
Requirements
- Previous experience in a test, repair, service, assembly or technician-based role
- Exposure to mechanical systems, electrical wiring, electronics or electromechanical equipment
- Knowledge of soldering techniques, including surface-mount (SMD) components
- Experience working with compressed gas systems or similar technical equipment would be beneficial
- Comfortable using Windows-based software and Microsoft Excel for recording and analysing test data
