Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE) Hours: Full‑time, Permanent
A well‑established and forward‑thinking accountancy practice in Wimborne is looking for a motivated Personal Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their tax career who wants to develop within a supportive, collaborative environment that values professional development and high‑quality client service.
You’ll work with a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work, with full support to progress towards managing your own portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Manage personal tax returns — Prepare Self Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, HNWIs, landlords, and sole traders.
Develop your own portfolio — Grow towards managing your own client base with ongoing support.
Provide tailored tax advice — Support clients with buy‑to‑let taxation, foreign income, residency, and Capital Gains Tax.
Act as a trusted point of contact — Liaise with clients and HMRC, handling queries and supporting tax enquiries.
Ensure accurate compliance — Deliver high‑quality, accurate tax compliance work.
What You’ll Need
9–12 months’ experience within an accountancy practice
Good working knowledge of UK Ltd Tax, Personal Tax, and Self Assessment
Commercial awareness and a client‑first mindset
Proficiency with IRIS (preferred) and Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
A proactive attitude and eagerness to grow
Preferred (not essential)
ATT qualified or studying
Interest in progressing towards CTA
