• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills
• Encourage participation, confidence, and positive interactions throughout the school day
• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
• Support behaviour positively through consistency, patience, and understanding
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual support plans where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, therapists, and external professionals
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all pupils at all times
Requirements for the Creative SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
• Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs (desirable)
• A creative background in arts, drama, music, dance, sports coaching, youth work, or similar fields (desirable)
• Knowledge and understanding of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting children
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
