We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a high-performing aerospace manufacturing team as part of an exciting transformation into a new Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe. This is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards within a business that supplies fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft.
In this role, you will work closely with a team of Quality Engineers to support a wide range of quality activities across the business. You will help develop, implement, and maintain quality management initiatives, support internal and external customers, train staff in Self-Certification approval status, and carry out audits across both processes and products.
The role
You will take responsibility for supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, including KPI reporting, management quality reviews, quality investigations, product recalls, and documentation control. You will also contribute to design reviews, new product introduction, certifying staff training, and the maintenance of company approvals and audit programmes.
Key responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems and initiatives.
Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve quality-related issues.
Train staff in Self-Certification approval status and support its ongoing maintenance.
Develop and apply quality tools such as SPC, Gauge R&R, FMEA, Six Sigma, Attribute Charts, and control plans.
Prepare and present KPI data for weekly and monthly management quality reviews.
Investigate quality issues to resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in product recalls where required by regulatory or customer requirements.
Support design reviews and new product introduction activities.
Compile and maintain company quality documentation.
Undertake business system and product audits in line with the scheduled audit programme.
Support the maintenance and progression of company approvals including BS EN ISO 9001, EASA Part 21, and AS EN 9001.
What we’re looking for
Aerospace engineering and aerospace regulatory knowledge, including EASA and AS9100.
Experience in a similar quality role is highly desirable.
Experience with PFMEA and 8D problem-solving.
Strong practical IT skills, including Excel, Word, Access, and other business systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
HNC or degree qualified preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
Audit training, ideally at Lead Auditor level.
Right to work in the UK without Visa Sponsorship.
