A respected, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy in London is looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support its growing team. This is a great opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure projects within a collaborative and well-supported environment. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will join a business with a strong and diverse workload.
This position suits an Assistant Quantity Surveyor keen to fast-track their development. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will receive hands-on experience, close guidance from senior professionals, and a clear pathway towards chartership. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be involved in projects from early stages through to completion, supporting cost planning, procurement, and contract administration. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also assist with valuations, variations, and reporting, working closely with both clients and senior team members.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets and feasibility studies
* Support tender processes and procurement activities
* Contribute to cost reporting, valuations and final accounts
* Assist with contract administration (JCT/NEC)
* Monitor project costs and manage variations
* Liaise with clients and project stakeholders
Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements
* 1-3 years' experience within a consultancy or main contractor
* Exposure to commercial, residential, healthcare, education, or infrastructure sectors
* Understanding of pre- and post-contract duties
* RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
* Working towards MRICS or keen to begin APC
* Strong communication and organisational skills
