We're partnering with a progressive and fast-growing food business seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Technologist to play a pivotal role within the Technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across customers, suppliers, sustainability initiatives, product development, and compliance programmes.
What You'll Be Doing:
Act as a key technical contact for customers and suppliers, building strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication across the supply chain
Manage customer, supplier, and internal specifications, technical systems, documentation, and compliance requirements, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness at all times
Support ethical sourcing, sustainability, SEDEX management, supplier due diligence, and environmental compliance programmes across the business
Analyse complaints, rejections, quality trends, and technical performance data, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement
Coordinate product sampling, benchmarking activities, pesticide residue testing programmes, and customer reporting requirements
Support customer audits, third-party certification audits, traceability exercises, and incident investigations, helping maintain exceptional compliance standards
Collaborate with NPD, Packaging, and Commercial teams to support product launches, artwork approval, packaging compliance, and innovation projects
Provide technical leadership support across the business, deputising for the Head of Technical when required and contributing to strategic technical objectives
What We're Looking For:
Experience within a Technical, Quality, Compliance, or Technologist role within food manufacturing, fresh produce, or FMCG environments
Strong knowledge of food safety, retailer standards, specifications management, supplier assurance, auditing, and quality systems
Experience working with customer technical systems, SEDEX, ethical compliance programmes, and sustainability initiatives would be highly advantageous
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical reporting systems, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
