Sheet Metal Worker / Plate / Fabricator - Dartford, Kent
We are looking for a precision-focused, ideally time-served fabricator to join a modern factory environment. The ideal candidate can work to tight tolerances, read technical blueprints, and is keen to adapt to new machinery with provided training.
Key Candidate Requirements
* Core Experience: Solid background in a precision sheet metal or plate environment, with a proven ability to work accurately to a tolerance.
* Technical Skills: Must be able to confidently interpret technical drawings.
* Material Expertise: Hands-on workshop experience with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel.
* Machinery & Welding:
* CNC Brake Press experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
* TIG and MIG welding capabilities are highly advantageous.
* Attributes: High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ideally time-served (completed apprenticeship/equivalent experience).
Hours & Overtime Structure
* Core Hours: A standard day-shift pattern with an early finish on Fridays.
* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
* Friday: 07:30 – 14:00
* Overtime: Available Monday to Saturday, paid at Time and a Half (1.5x).
Salary & Benefits Package
* Pay Rate: £15.00 to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).
* Holiday: 20 days per annum for the first year, rising to 25 days per annum from year two onwards (plus all Bank Holidays).
* Work Environment: Access to modern workshop equipment, excellent staff welfare facilities, and a pipeline of interesting, varied project work.
* Progression: Ongoing machine and skills training provided on the job
