Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 37 per week (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm)
Pay Rate: £23.37 per hour

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Business Partner to join Gateshead Council's People Services team on a temporary basis.
In this role, you will act as a trusted recruitment partner to hiring managers across the organisation, supporting the delivery of high-quality, end-to-end recruitment campaigns. You will play a key role in attracting and appointing talent across a range of services, ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with recruitment best practice.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, advisory work, and delivering efficient and effective recruitment solutions in a fast-paced in-house environment.
Key responsibilities
Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and design effective recruitment strategies
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including attraction, sourcing, selection, and onboarding
Provide expert advice and guidance on recruitment best practice and fair selection processes
Support and coach managers to ensure consistent and high-quality recruitment outcomes
Use recruitment data and insight to improve processes and inform decision-making
Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment approaches and candidate experience What we're looking for
Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment (in-house experience desirable)
Strong stakeholder management and ability to build effective working relationships
Experience managing multiple vacancies and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to develop proactive and tailored recruitment strategies
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Understanding of recruitment compliance, equality, and data protection principles
Experience with bulk recruitment is desirable
Experience using Jobtrain ATS is desirable but not essential Apply now
