Role Description:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager, the Assistant Production Leader (APL) will lead a small IMT (Integrated Manufacturing Team) and be responsible for the manufacturing element of a specific project in either the Production or Support phase; ensuring items are manufactured and/or repaired to the agreed Operations Plan.
Core Duties:
On-Time Delivery (OTD) of units to the Op Plan
Cost Management of both Touch and Support labour
Driving Quality into the Product
Leading a small team
Managing improvement activities
Interfacing with all other functions at many different levels
Essential Skills:
Experience in a Manufacturing environment
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Communication, problem solving, organisation, prioritisation and IT skills
Tactful and able to deal with sensitive information
ONC/OND/BTEC Level 2 in an Engineering Discipline
Previous Leadership experience
Manufacturing technical knowledge
