Warehouse Operative - Staging and Branding - Birmingham

On behalf of NCR Voyix – Rapid Resource are looking for a Warehouse Operative to work in their Staging and Branding Warehouse in Holford Way, Birmingham B6.

The role is on a 3-month rolling contract. The work is offered via an Umbrella Company. Rapid can assist you with this.

Working Hours:

This advert is for the shift time of:

2:00pm – 10pm - Monday - Friday

or 6am - 2pm - Monday - Friday

Pay:

The day rate is £130.00. Please note that this role is paid through an umbrella company, and after standard deductions (including tax, National Insurance, and umbrella fees), the estimated take-home pay is approximately £101.11 per day.

Primary duties to include: -

- Unboxing of NCR Self Service Checkouts (SCO Lanes) peripheral equipment and cables brought in to Branding by warehouse operatives

- Breakdown and makeup cardboard boxes and packaging as necessary.

- Assist warehouse team in moving cardboard to bailer in loading bay yard.

- Removal of plastic packaging (retain SCO Lane bags for re-use) and place waste in bins/boxes provided.

- Checking off “Picks” to ensure that stock delivered in by Warehouse Team corresponds to the Picklist supplied to the Staging Supervisor

- Accurate capturing of data, including serial numbers & entering of data on to Check sheets and simple spreadsheets.

- Checking equipment for faults & damage.

- Light engineering work, including accurate marking out, drilling holes in mild & stainless steel, de-burring and hand riveting.

- Lifting & moving equipment and boxes by hand and by use of pallet trucks.

- Wrapping completed SCO Lanes using pallet wrap and applying shipping labels.

Requirements

- Candidates must be PC literate

- Candidates must be numerate and articulate, able to communicate effectively to both management and other team members.

- Candidates must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn new processes in a fast moving and pressurised environment, paramount is keenness to “get the job done”. No task too small!

- Candidates must be able to follow verbal instructions and work on a variety of different activities, as the job demands.

- Candidates must be able to complete repetitive tasks with the same attention to detail on the last as on the first.

- Candidates must be familiar with the use of general hand tools (screwdrivers – Flat, Philips & Pozidrive, Files, Snips, Socket Sets, ‘C’ & Ring Spanners, etc.) and provide their own hand tools as needed.

- Candidate must be familiar with basic workshop practices and the use of mains and battery powered tools, including drills, bench press drill., saws, nail guns, etc.

- Candidates must have a basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements, manual handling and lifting procedures including the use of pallet trucks and basic electrical safety.

- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, be self-motivated and a team worker, able to follow technical documentation and conduct technical testing.

- Able to work on own initiative with minimal direct supervision.

- Good communication skills at all levels, both internal & external

- Good telephone manner

- Candidates must be prepared to move to other duties as needed and be pro-active in looking where they can be best utilised. If a task is completed, look for other tasks to do or ask a supervisor.

Ideal if you have knowledge of: -

- Networking (LAN, TCP/IP, and Wireless configuration)

- Windows 7/8/10/11

- Internet connections (patch management & basic switch set up)

- Backup Systems

- Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office (2010+) – Word, Excel, etc.

- Applicant needs to be conversant and fluent in the use of Outlook / Excel / Word
