We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to join the Liaison Psychiatry Team in Sheffield on an agency basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing specialist mental health assessment and support to patients presenting in acute healthcare settings.
Location: Sheffield
Department: Liaison Psychiatry
Contract Length: 3 Months (with potential extension)
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
Shifts Available: 7 days per week
Shift Patterns
Predominantly Night Shifts: 19:00 – 08:10
Some Late Shifts Available: 14:00 – 00:00
Flexible working across a 7-day service
Maximum 37.5 hours per weekKey Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments.
Provide timely psychiatric liaison support within acute care settings.
Develop and implement appropriate care plans.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, nursing, and social care professionals.
Assess and manage patients presenting with mental health crises, self-harm, substance misuse, and complex psychiatric needs.
Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to professional standards.Requirements
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
Previous experience working within Liaison Psychiatry, Crisis Teams, Acute Mental Health Services, or Emergency Care settings.
Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.Benefits
