GSL Education are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.
As a Geography Teacher, you will bring the subject to life through engaging lessons that explore physical landscapes, human geography, and global issues. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who enjoys helping students make sense of the world around them while developing strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach Geography across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, preparing students for assessments and examinations
Develop students’ understanding of physical and human geography concepts
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour
Support students’ academic progress and wider personal development
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives
Requirements of a Geography Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Geography or a related subject
Experience teaching Geography in a school setting is desirable
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to inspire and engage learners of all abilities
A proactive and professional approach to teaching
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
