Location: Skelmersdale (WN8 9PP)
Salary: Up to £48k per annum (DOE)
Shifts : Mon- Thurs 08:00- 16:30, Friday 08:00- 14:30
Contract Type: Permanent
The Company
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for our client who specialise in engineering high precision components for high profile contracts which include the Automotive & Aerospace industry.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be part of an existing, highly experienced fast-moving department on an international scale. You will be required to work as a key team player, with direction and motivation being given to achieve internal and external quality expectations to automotive standards.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your duties will be:
Programme, set up and optimise a range of machine tool controls, including CNC, grinding and milling machines.
Provide technical training and support to setters and machine operatives, ensuring best practice and process compliance.
Create and maintain process documentation, including technical drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Manage product development activities from initial enquiry through testing and validation to full-scale production.
Design and develop tooling, fixtures and other production-related equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Work closely with suppliers to enhance product quality, tooling performance and machine capability.
Support the investigation and resolution of customer quality and production issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive operational excellence.
An ideal Manufacturing Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:
Previous experience using CAD software, with the ability to create and interpret engineering drawings.
Proven experience programming and setting sliding head lathes within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Committed to delivering high standards of workmanship while meeting production targets and deadlines
