Location: Croydon - Addington Heights CR0 0DN or Cherry Hub CR0 2BY - Fully Office Based
Hourly rate £17.59 PAYE / £23.24 UMB Per Hour
Contract Length: 12 -month contract (possibility of extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours

About the Role
As a Community Support Worker, you will support adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities, autism, and other complex needs through engaging, person-centred activities both within our hubs and out in the local community.
You will use approaches such as Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support to help people participate in meaningful sessions including:
Cooking and independent living skills
Communication activities
Music and dance sessions
Community access and social inclusion activities
Health and wellbeing support
You will play a key role in promoting independence, choice, wellbeing, dignity, and safety while helping individuals work towards outcomes that matter to them.
Please note that personal care support is an essential requirement of this role.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for individuals who are caring, enthusiastic, creative, and committed to delivering high-quality support.
The successful candidate will have:
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience of Positive Behaviour Support
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to creatively plan and deliver person-centred activities
Skills to support communication development and promote choice-making
A strong understanding of dignity, independence, safeguarding, and human rights
The ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends where required
Additional Information
This role requires:
Enhanced DBS check including Adults' and Children's Barred Lists
Flexibility to work across Active Lives service locations as required
Travel within the community to support activities and residents
Please note: successful candidates will be required to work across both Addington Heights and Cherry Hub locations as needed by the service. There is no remote working available for this role. Parking is available at both sites.
