Production Operator

Location: Bedford
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract with Permanent Opportunities

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern of 6:00am – 2:00pm and 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Candidates must also be willing to work night shifts (10:00pm – 6:00am) on a set-duration basis when required. A night shift premium of one-third is paid for applicable hours worked.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join the team as a Production Operator.

As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in their performance, and works well as part of a team. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate production equipment, including ovens and gantry cranes
Weigh and measure raw materials accurately
Prepare moulds and carry out moulding and demoulding processes
Record production data and product measurements accurately
Trim and finish products ready for the next stage of production
Inspect finished products and report faults or quality concerns to the Shift Leader or Team Manager
Follow all health and safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials
Use PPE correctly and work in accordance with COSHH and Safe Systems of Work
Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free work areas
Move raw materials and finished products using a forklift truck or pallet truck where authorised
Support production requirements and work additional hours when required
Qualifications / Skills:

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment is desirable
Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Reliable, honest, and professional approach to work
Willingness to learn new skills and follow procedures
Ability to undertake physical and manual handling tasks
Forklift truck or pallet truck licence is advantageous but not essential
Flexible approach to shifts and overtime requirements
