Location: Berkshire - in the child's home
Start date: September 2026
Duration: Full academic year
Hours: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working pattern: 2 hours per day

Quantum Scholars are looking for a caring, patient and experienced qualified EYFS or KS1 Teacher to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child with very complex needs.

This role is based in Berkshire and will involve working with the child in their home for 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The successful teacher will need to provide a calm, nurturing and highly personalised approach, supporting the child's engagement, communication, confidence and early learning.

This role would suit a qualified teacher with EYFS or KS1 experience who is confident adapting learning to meet individual needs. Experience working with children with complex needs, communication difficulties, SEND, or children who are non-verbal would be highly beneficial.

The role will involve:

Providing 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in a home setting
Planning and delivering highly personalised EYFS or KS1 learning activities
Using a gentle, flexible and child-centred approach
Supporting communication, engagement and emotional regulation
Adapting sessions to suit the child's needs, responses and readiness to learn
Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child
Working professionally with parents/carers and relevant professionals
Keeping brief records of session content, engagement and progressEssential requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status, with EYFS and/or KS1 teaching experience
Experience supporting children with SEND, complex needs or communication difficulties
A calm, patient, nurturing and flexible approach
The ability to adapt learning to meet the needs of a non-verbal child
Strong communication and organisational skills
A clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for children
The legal right to work in the UK

Applicants must also have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate and be able to provide suitable references.
