Smile Education are proud to be supporting a thriving secondary school in the Walsall area in their search for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students with additional needs achieve their full potential. The role is initially offered on a long-term temporary basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The RoleWorking closely with the SEND department, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom. You will help to remove barriers to learning, promote student engagement, and contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
Helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Supporting the wider inclusion and pastoral team where requiredThe Ideal CandidateWe are looking for individuals who:
Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
Have a passion for supporting students with additional needs
Possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Are patient, resilient, and adaptable
Can work effectively as part of a team
Hold relevant qualifications or experience in education, SEND, youth work, care, or support work (desirable but not essential)Why Apply?
