Audit Executive
Location: Colindale, London (Hybrid – minimum 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: £48,003 – £53,172 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Audit Executive to join our Internal Audit team. Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will deliver risk-based internal audits across a diverse range of Council services, providing assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, procurement, and financial management arrangements.
You will manage audits from planning and scoping through to reporting and follow-up, ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with professional standards and agreed timescales. The role also involves providing audit advice to managers, identifying opportunities for improvement, supporting service developments, and contributing to the delivery of the Annual Audit Plan.
About You
You will have:
* A relevant qualification such as CIPFA, AAT, IIA or another CCAB-recognised qualification.
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
* Sound knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and risk-based auditing techniques.
* At least five years' experience delivering internal audits within a public sector organisation.
* Experience of undertaking audits independently from planning through to final report.
* Good knowledge of local government finance, governance, and statutory requirements.
* Understanding of procurement, contract management, and associated audit risks.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
