Sheet Metal Fabricator
Key Responsibilities
* Metal Fabrication: Craft high-quality metalwork products with thickness between 1mm to 10mm, products would consist of Plenums, Doors, Manifolds, and others to exact specifications.
* Welding & Assembly: Utilise MIG welding techniques to assemble, finish, and inspect various metal products.
* Design Reading: Interpret designs, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and precision in fabrication.
* Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products for structural soundness, quality, and adherence to design requirements.
* Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain workshop tools and machinery to ensure smooth operation and safety.
* Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and fellow fabricators to troubleshoot design or fabrication challenges.
* Overtime: After 38 hours enhanced pay for overtime.
Qualifications
* Experience: 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication, preferably in an industrial/Structural setting.
* Skills: Proficient in MIG welding, metal forming, cutting, and finishing techniques.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metals, welding procedures, and fabrication tools.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise, high-quality work with minimal supervision.
* Safety Focused: Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety procedures related to fabrication and workshop environments.
* Hours: Static -Days 6am till 2pm, Afternoons 2pm till 10pm (15% shift allowance), Nights 10pm till 6am (30% shift allowance).
Preferred Qualities
* Experience with bespoke and custom metal fabrication projects
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
* Positive attitude and a keen interest in continuous learning and skills development
* Passion for traditional blacksmithing and modern fabrication techniques
* Keen to keep house keeping up to a high standard
