Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. You will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and repair works across a range of mechanical building systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working in a fast-paced environment, and delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems
Maintain domestic water systems in line with L8 compliance
Service and maintain HVAC equipment and associated plant
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
Maintain pumps, motors, valves, heating systems, and pressure systems
Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately
Support safe systems of work and comply with all health & safety procedures
Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues
Deliver excellent customer service at all times
Participate in the on-call rota and support out-of-hours callouts where required
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
Mechanical or plumbing qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience working within commercial and/or domestic environments
Knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and water systems
Experience maintaining pumps, motors, valves, and heating systems
Understanding of L8 water hygiene requirements
Strong awareness of health & safety regulations
Good communication and IT skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Desirable
HVAC and air handling unit experience
Building Management Systems (BMS) knowledge
Experience with pressure systems and pressurisation units
Unvented systems certification
Facilities Management experience
Knowledge of district heating or compressed air systems
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Overtime and weekend work available
Participation in on-call rota required
