Clearance: BPSS required
Location & Travel
- Primary locations: Leeds, London, Newcastle
- Hybrid working model
- On-site attendance required weekly (no fixed number of days)
- Ad hoc travel to other Government Client locations for:
- Workshops
- Team meetings
- Stakeholder engagement
Role Overview
Government client is seeking a Product Manager (Purview SME) to lead on the development, prioritisation, and implementation of Microsoft Purview capabilities across the organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning product delivery with organisational strategy, ensuring that information protection, compliance, and risk management capabilities are effectively implemented and adopted.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft Purview
- Review, prioritise, and recommend implementation approaches for:
- Information Protection
- Insider Risk Management
- eDiscovery
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Align delivery plans with the overarching product strategy
- Partner with the Lead Product Owner to define and agree execution plans
- Drive adoption of Purview capabilities across the organisation
- Engage and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Design and implement processes across organisational boundaries
- Provide strategic input into governance, compliance, and security initiatives
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Purview capabilities
- Proven experience implementing Information Protection solutions within M365
- Experience delivering against product strategy
- Demonstrated ability to drive user adoption and engagement
- Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience working within government or public sector environments
- Familiarity with compliance, data governance, and risk frameworks
- Experience shaping or defining product roadmaps
Deliverables
- Strategic recommendations for Purview capability implementation
- Prioritised product roadmap aligned to government client objectives
- Defined and agreed execution plans with Product Leadership
- Measurable improvements in adoption of Purview tools and processes
