Job Specification: Test Manager (SC Cleared)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager (SC Cleared) to lead and manage end-to-end testing activities across a high-profile programme. The successful candidate will drive quality assurance across ETL processes, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring robust delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Key Details

• Role: Test Manager
• Location: UK Remote
• Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance (essential)
• Rate: £537 per day (Inside IR35)
• Contract Length: 6 months (initial)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall test strategy and delivery life cycle
• Oversee ETL testing, ensuring data integrity, quality, and validation across pipelines
• Manage SIT phases, coordinating integration testing across multiple systems and stakeholders
• Drive UAT planning and execution, ensuring business readiness and sign-off
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, strategies, and governance frameworks
• Coordinate test environments, data preparation, and defect management processes
• Engage with business, technical, and third-party stakeholders to align testing objectives
• Provide regular reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics
• Manage and mentor testing teams (onshore/offshore if applicable)
• Ensure adherence to agile or waterfall delivery methodologies as required

Key Skills & Experience Essential:

• Active SC Clearance
• Proven experience as a Test Manager in complex delivery environments
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • ETL testing (data validation, reconciliation, transformation testing)
  • System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Experience managing end-to-end test life cycles
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with defect management tools (eg, JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps)
• Understanding of data-centric systems and integration architectures

Desirable:

• Experience in government or regulated environments
• Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• ISTQB or equivalent certification
