About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and organised Assistant SENDCo to support the SENDCo in delivering high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will play a key role in ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed, working closely with staff, families, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the SENDCo in managing and delivering SEND provision across the school
* Help coordinate support for students with SEND, including EHCP processes and annual reviews
* Line manage and support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
* Assist with exam access arrangements, including assessments and applications
* Maintain accurate SEND records, provision maps, and student plans
* Work with teachers to ensure inclusive teaching and effective interventions
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies
* Support student progress, attendance, and wellbeing
* Deliver small group interventions and Functional Skills (Maths & English where required)
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND
* Good understanding of SEND processes and legislation (or willingness to learn)
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
* Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Desirable:
* Experience with exam access arrangements
* HLTA status or relevant SEND qualification
* Experience managing or supporting staff
