Food Technology Teacher - West Drayton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a specialist secondary academy in West Drayton. This is a full-time position within a supportive and well-resourced educational setting, offering the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

The Role

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to develop essential cooking, nutrition, food preparation and life skills. You will create a positive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement while supporting students with a range of learning and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Develop engaging schemes of work that promote creativity, healthy living and practical food preparation skills.
Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback and intervention where required.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained within the Food Technology classroom.
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals to support student outcomes.About You

The successful candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
Possess strong classroom management skills.
Demonstrate the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Experience working with students with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.What We Offer
