Full time | September 2026 start | Initially 1 term with potential to extend.

PK Education are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a highly regarded Special School in Pontefract Wakefield from September 2026.

The school supports pupils aged 11–19 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism and complex communication needs. This long-term opportunity is based within a specialist setting supporting secondary-aged pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism and complex communication needs. The school is recognised for its inclusive approach, personalised curriculum and commitment to developing independence, communication and life skills for all learners. Based across specialist provisions within the Wakefield area, staff work collaboratively to create meaningful learning experiences tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.

The successful candidate will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, autism, SLD, PMLD or complex needs
• Be confident adapting learning to meet a range of communication and learning needs
• Work closely with therapists, support staff and families
• Create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment
