We are currently partnering with a fast-growing renewable heating and energy services business to recruit an Operations Director to lead the next phase of operational growth and service delivery.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced operations professional who can drive performance across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and customer service functions while helping scale a business operating at the forefront of the UK's low-carbon heating transition. The company specialises in air source heat pumps, solar technologies, and renewable energy solutions for residential and light commercial markets.

Air source heat pump installations
Renewable heating solutions
Solar and energy technologies
Commissioning, maintenance, and monitoring services
Technical support for developers, housing providers, and homeownersThe business has established a strong reputation for quality design, installation standards, and long-term customer support, positioning itself to capitalise on the significant growth expected within the UK heat pump market.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Operations Director will take responsibility for the overall operational performance of the business.

You will oversee installation teams, service operations, technical support functions, supply chain coordination, and customer delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.

This role will play a critical part in building scalable processes and operational infrastructure to support continued company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Lead day-to-day operational activities across installation, service, and maintenance divisions
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business growth plans
Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability
Establish KPIs and performance metrics across all operational teams

Project & Service Delivery

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
Oversee installation, commissioning, and aftersales operations
Drive improvements in customer satisfaction and service delivery
Manage operational risks and resolve escalated issues

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop operational management teams
Build organisational capability to support future growth
Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
Support recruitment and workforce planning initiatives

Compliance & Quality

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, accreditation standards, and health & safety requirements
Maintain quality assurance processes across all operational activities
Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice

Commercial & Strategic Support

Work closely with commercial and technical teams to support business objectives
Manage operational budgets and resource planning
Contribute to strategic planning and business expansion initiatives
Support partnerships with developers, housing providers, and key customers

The Candidate

We are seeking an experienced operational leader with a strong background in renewable energy.

Essential:

Experience within the heat pump or renewable heating sector
Experience working with developers, housing associations, or residential construction markets
Engineering or technical qualification
Experience supporting rapid business growth

The Package

Salary £80,000 - £100,000 depending on experience
Car allowance or company vehicle
