Midday Supervisor - SEN School - Upminster

Are you a caring, patient, and reliable individual looking to make a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs?

Academics are currently recruiting a Midday Supervisor to join a supportive and welcoming SEN school in Upminster on a temporary ongoing basis, with an immediate start available.

As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring pupils remain safe, supported, and engaged during lunchtime. Working within a specialist SEN setting, you will help create a positive and nurturing environment where pupils can enjoy their lunch break safely and confidently.

You will supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground, and around the school, supporting their social development, encouraging positive interactions, and responding appropriately to their individual needs.

Role:

Position: Midday Supervisor
Location: Upminster, Essex
Contract: Temporary, ongoing
Pay: From £14.24 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate Start AvailableKey Responsibilities

Supervise pupils during lunch in the dining hall, playground, and communal areas
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs during lunchtime activities
Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, and social interaction
Assist pupils with meals and daily routines where required
Promote a safe, calm, and supportive environment
Manage minor incidents in accordance with school policies
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately
Work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure pupil wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

Experience working with children or young people is desirable
Previous SEN experience is advantageous but not essential
A patient, caring, and understanding approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
A team player with a positive attitude
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain oneWe Also Offer:
