We are a well-established Independent Fostering Agency, rated “Good” by Ofsted, and we’re looking to welcome both new and experienced foster parents into our community.
As a Foster Parent, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children who are unable to live with their biological families. This position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children. You will be responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the children in your care while helping them navigate the challenges they face.
Responsibilities
* Provide a stable and loving home environment, with a dedicated bedroom for children in foster care.
* Attend to the daily needs of the children, including meals, hygiene, and education.
* Support the emotional well-being of the children by offering guidance and encouragement.
* Collaborate with social workers, schools, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
* Participate in family meetings and court hearings as required.
* Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and any significant events or changes in behaviour.
* Engage in activities that promote social skills, education, and personal development.
Skills
* Experience with children is essential; previous experience in childcare or education is highly beneficial.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and professionals.
* Patience and empathy to understand and support children's emotional needs.
* Ability to create a structured yet flexible environment that fosters growth and stability.
* Problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during caregiving.
* A commitment to ongoing training and development in child welfare practices. This role requires dedication and resilience but offers the rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in children's lives
