Engineering Manager
Salary - Up to £70,000 plus bonus
Location - Hampshire
We are pleased to be partnering with a rapidly expanding FMCG manufacturer to appoint an Engineering Manager. This is a key leadership role, driving site performance, embedding continuous improvement, and supporting the business through an exciting growth phase.
Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering function, overseeing maintenance, capital projects, site infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximise operational efficiency and reliability.
Manage and develop the engineering team through performance reviews, clear objectives, and structured training aligned with business needs and system upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, conducting risk assessments and liaising with authorities and external stakeholders as required.
Deliver automation and improvement projects on time and within budget, enhancing productivity, reducing downtime, and supporting long-term manufacturing performance goals.
Implement environmental and sustainability initiatives to reduce site carbon footprint while maintaining robust preventative maintenance systems for optimal equipment performance.
Oversee specification, installation, and refurbishment of machinery, supporting product development processes and improving throughput, efficiency, and operational capability.
Monitor KPIs including downtime and efficiency, manage contractors and spare parts, and support production planning to meet customer demand effectively.Requirements:
Hold an engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, or BTEC
Previous experience in a similar position (e.g. Engineering Maintenance Manager, Plant Engineering Manager, Factory Engineering Manager) would be highly advantageous.
Demonstrate proven experience leading and developing engineering teams, with the ability to motivate, coach, and build strong team performance.
Possess experience working within FMCG environments, ideally within food manufacturing, with understanding of industry standards, compliance, and operational pressures.
Have strong knowledge of high-speed production and packing lines, including maintenance strategies, fault finding, and continuous improvement techniques.
