Maintenance Engineer
Company Overview
Our client is a leading manufacturer operating within a fast-paced industrial environment, supplying engineered solutions to a range of specialist sectors.
Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician will support manufacturing operations by improving the efficiency and reliability of production equipment through proactive planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
The role involves maintaining mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems while ensuring minimal downtime and high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
Respond to equipment breakdowns and machine failures
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical/electronic and pneumatic faults
Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities
Ensure calibration and maintenance schedules are completed
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
Develop maintenance work instructions and troubleshooting guides
Work closely with production and engineering teams
Coordinate external suppliers and contractors where required
Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures
Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing or production
Strong fault-finding ability
Mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge
Experience with pneumatics and production machinery
Ability to prioritise urgent repairs
Good communication and reporting skills
Experience using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment
Desirable
HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Engineering
TPM experience
PLC fault-finding
CMMS knowledge
Electronics manufacturing background
Typical Duties
Routine inspections
Equipment servicing
Breakdown response
Spare parts management
Contractor supervision
Root cause analysis
Equipment reliability improvements
Working Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing facility
Multi-skilled engineering team
Shift work and overtime may be required
