We are recruiting a Senior Substance Use Mental Health (SUMH) Nurse (RMN) to join our Wakefield Integrated Substance Use Service (Inspiring Recovery, Inspiring Futures, and Inspiring Families).

Main Responsibilities

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

Provide mental health expertise within a multi-disciplinary substance use team

Build strong links with community mental health teams and external partners

Support complex case management, including advocacy and escalation where needed

Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings for clients with complex needs

Work closely with clinical leads, including the Principal Clinical Psychologist

Help shape and improve service delivery to ensure high-quality care

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled nurse who:

Is a qualified RMN registered with the NMC

Has experience in mental health services (substance use experience desirable)

Is confident working with individuals with complex needs

Has strong communication and partnership-working skills

Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and a person-centred approach

You’ll also benefit from:

Support with revalidation (RCNi access)

Indemnity insurance

Regular supervision and clinical leadership support

Opportunities for ongoing learning and career progression

Essential Criteria:
A minimum of two years’ experience working within a mental health setting is required for this role, reflecting the senior level of the position.
